Grace Ling

MS | RD | CDCES

Hi! I’m Grace. I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). I work with folks who are struggling with diabetes, prediabetes, chronic dieting, and disordered eating.

MY APPROACH:

I aim to empower my clients to enhance specific health outcomes that matter to them while finding greater ease with food and their bodies.

My counseling style is informed by anti-diet, weight-inclusive, and intuitive eating approaches that aim to nourish rather than restrict, translating into sustainable behavior changes that you can feel good about.

Whether your goal is to improve lab results, increase energy levels, stabilize blood sugars, or find a healthier relationship with food, I look forward to getting to know you on a deeper level and understand your unique strengths and challenges to arrive at a personalized nutrition and lifestyle plan.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE:

I grew up in Vancouver, Canada, bounced around the east coast and midwest, and now call beautiful Seattle home. You can find me outdoors running around local trails, dreaming of volcanoes, searching for good sushi and ramen, or curled up at home on a rainy PNW day with the NYT crossword. My husband and I are on a life-long quest to climb the highest natural point of all 50 US states.

Areas of Expertise

DIABETES & PREDIABETES

Perhaps you are newly diagnosed and totally overwhelmed, or maybe you’ve been living with diabetes for many years and need help troubleshooting certain challenges. I can help you understand the diagnosis, decode the numbers, understand your medications, and develop a satisfying, actionable nutrition plan to manage your blood sugars in a sustainable, self-compassionate way.

INTUITIVE EATING & FOOD FREEDOM

Human infants are born with the knowledge of when to eat and how much, and how to make their needs known. However, as we learn cultural norms of the “ideal” body size and “good vs. bad” eating behaviors, it becomes more difficult to access these innate abilities. This can lead us to mistrust our bodies and develop disordered eating patterns. I am certified in intuitive eating, an anti-diet approach that can help you to reconnect with your body and rediscover your innate wisdom around food and movement.

GENERAL HEALTH & WELLNESS

You do not need to have a medical diagnosis to benefit from nutrition counseling, and many insurance plans cover what are considered “preventive” visits. If you do not have a diabetes or prediabetes diagnosis but feel you would benefit from general healthy nutrition counseling, reach out, and let’s see if we would be a good fit!
